Known for its scenic beauty, Rohtang Pass holds strategic importance for India. It is the gateway to Keylong in the landlocked Lahaul Valley from Manali in the Kullu district. ... This pass is an ancient trade route between the people on either side of Pir Panjal. Best time to visit: The pass is open from May till November. On a daily basis, the permit for Rohtang Pass is restricted to only 800 petrol and 400 diesel vehicles to travel to Rohtang Pass.
